Fitting is an important part of hose. It’s to connect the hose into other machines and provide excellent sealing in the meantime. The fitting should have these functions as follow.
1. Excellent water tightness. There should not be leakage and water drop.
2. Provide strong grasp to hose and avoid the separation of hose and fitting.
3. It will not hurt the hose during usage.
4. Make the medium flow smoothly in the hose
However, there is not a fitting that suitable for all the working conditions of hose. Sometimes you may preferentially choose a fitting that easy to install with lower price. But sometimes you have to choose a high quality fitting which has the best property in severe conditions.
Generally speaking, you should focus on the following points when buying fittings.
1. The size of fitting should fit with the size of hose. It shouldn’t be too tight and shouldn’t be too loose as well.
2. If there is rust or crack on the fitting, never use it.
3. The fitting should be long enough to contain the external clamp
4. If used in high pressure and high temperature, we suggest you choose the fitting with spines. But the spines should not be too sharp, or it will hurt the inner tube of hose.
5. Fasten the clamps carefully and refasten them if necessary. The deformation of clamps will cause hose leak and disconnect.
There are three kinds of clamps:
Clamping device: clamp on the tail of hose fitting
Toggle clip with safe ring: clamp the hose on the fitting’s tail and fix it with safe ring
cannula clamp: cover the hose from external. Then fix it with lock or flange to prevent the hose fall off from fittings.
