Large diameter PVC layflat hose is for water discharge use. While that means it is ideal for fluid transfer from a source to a certain place. But it is not ideal for suction apps where fluids need to be drawn or lifted from a lower level or container.
The main reason is that PVC layflat hose has a thin wall for more lighter in weight. But the suction hose always has a thick wall to bear the negative pressure. While this thinner wall may not provide the rigidity and strength to bear the negative pressure. Thus if you use such lay flat hose for suction work, it could cause the hose to collapse or deform. What’s more, it may damage the hose and cause bad influence to the suction work.
If you require a hose for both suction and discharge use, you’d better choose a special hose. While the hose should can work at both positive and negative pressures. You can choose a PVC suction hose or rubber water suction hose.
